Why Choose Them?

04/27/25

1. The very first Team Jesus were just ordinary guys.

Matthew 10:2-4

2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

2. We would have chosen a different Team Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.  27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.

What about Judas Iscariot?

1. Judas heard the things Jesus said and witnessed the things Jesus did but he never

believed in who Jesus really was.

2. Everything that Judas did he did by choice.

3. Jesus never stopped reaching out to Judas.

4. satan assumed that Jesus’ death would end Jesus’ mission and stop God’s plan.

5. If Judas had repented Jesus would have forgiven him.

Jesus is not giving up on you.

Have you given up on Him?
